What Do You See When You Google Yourself?

Why You Should Have an Up-To-Date Google Profile

Scoroncocolo, Scoroncocolo Tech Pages, goog;e profilePerhaps the most important page you will ever post to the Web is your Google Profile page.

Add Some Control to What People See When They Google You

If you are a doctor or an attorney your prospective patients or clients are going to Google you. If you are an educator, your students and their parents are Googling you. If you are engaged in any business your customers are probably Googling you. If you ask someone for a date nowadays, they're very likely going to Google you before they agree to go out with you. Are you thinking about applying for new job? You can bet the ranch that prospective employer is going to do a thorough Google search of you. You don't have to be a high-profile Hollywood actor or a well known politician to be concerned about what people see when they type your name into Google's search engine.

As a general rule, we have very little control over what people see when they google our names. One very important exception to this rule is our ability to have complete control over our Google Profiles. Creating a Google Profile is the best way for you introduce yourself to people who are searching for you on the Web.

It just makes sense for you to have an up-to-date Google Profile.

You'll need a Google account to create a Google Profile. If you have a Goolge Gmail account, then you have a Google account. If you don't have a Google account the easiest way to get one is to sign up for a Gmail account. To do that just type gmail into Google's search engine and then click on Sign up for a Gmail account. Once you've signed up for a Gmail account, go to https://profiles.google.com/ and start working on your Google Profile.

Don't worry about filling in all of the options on your profile page; you can leave some empty if you like. And don't worry about getting everything perfect the first time you create your profile because you can very easily edit your Google Profile at any time in the future.

Once you've created a Google Profile page, you can view it by going to https://profiles.google.com/ and clicking on View My Profile. Once you're on your profile page, just click Edit Profile button in the upper right-hand portion of the page to do more work on your Google Profile page.

Creating a Google Profile Page is Free and Easy

Creating a Google Profile Is Fun and Easy

Earlier this year Google introduced a new user interface to Google Profiles which makes the whole Profile page more attractive, more informative and much easier to edit. And best of all this brand new iteration of your Profile pages allows you to untie your Google Profile from Google Buzz. Hallelujah! It's about time!

Editing your Google Profile page has been made much easier. You can now go to your Google Profile page and click on the Edit button. Now just click on the various sections in your profile and edit those sections one by one. What could be easier? When you're done, click the Save Changes button and the changes take place on Google's servers as quickly as your upload speed allow or in other words, almost instantly.

You can put up to five photos in your Scrapbook file on your Google Profile page. You can change these photos anytime you like.

You can add as much or as little personal information about yourself as you feel comfortable with. And the good news is that you can always go back to your Google Profile and change anything you want because you have total control over the information provided on your Google Profile page.

Most of us nowadays have Facebook profiles. It only makes sense that we invest a little time in creating our Google Profiles as well. Reason is ... If you think people aren't googling you, you're wrong.
